Only a few days left until the 60th edition of Salone del Mobile and Eurocucina in Milano, two of the most influential design events in the world! Millions of visitors and design tourists will be discovering new and exciting projects in furniture and interior design after the 2 year break caused by the pandemic. Expectations are high – surprise us, Italy!
While waiting, join me for a design count down with highlights from the September 2022 edition, which was smaller in scale but still nice as everyone was so excited that design is back in the city.
Starting with the SCAPIN COLLECTION – one of the brands I instantly fell in love with as their pieces definitely look different! The eclectic way colour, materials and forms are combined reminds of the 20’s of the last century – there is that touch of Art Deco with black contours, playful shape and white marble. So, somewhat familiar yet truly unique! This style is so far beyond post-modernism and minimalism 😉 It’s a maximal, a retro-futuristic style, designed by Elena Salmistraro and Matteo Cibic – ‚an invasion of pure creativity has landed‘!
