Wow, the buzz is back in Milan. The first day of Milan Design Week was just blowing everyone’s mind, as if there hadn’t been two years of stand still. The queues at the fair, and the hundreds of events in town, just like 3 years ago. Design is the beat of the city!
So, what to expect? Much! The world has changed significantly, more so, it’s in a state of transformation. Design is a driver for it, as it is at the forefront of innovation in material, technology and shaping consumption habits. There is no ‘more of the same’ –
The claim of the organisers is that sustainability is the key topic. One of my major questions is: how will the Italians deal with marble? The material, that the nation is known for worldwide, and that, with no doubt, is a very limited resource. Let me try to find out!
